I’m A Celebrity 2023 is just 10 days in and two campmates have already suffered emergencies. Day 9 saw the departure of Grace Dent on “medical grounds” while Nella Rose was “rushed to the medic”. While information on their injuries has yet to be revealed, we’re hoping they’re not as horrid as the following moments – it’s about to get ugly.
I’m A Celeb’s worst injuries from 2002 – 2023
Kimberly Davis – fractured rib
Former Neighbours actress Kimberly Davis was suspected to have suffered a fractured rib after jumping 15ft from a helicopter to hit a floating target beneath. The celeb was advised to keep her hands to the side and legs straight when entering the water, but ended up raising her right arm to hold her nose, meaning her elbow was at a right angle when entering the water.
She was transported to hospital via air ambulance with suspicions of a fractured shoulder and spinal injuries, but The Age reports she suffered only a fractured rib.
Natalie Appleton – breathing difficulties
In series 4, All Saints singer Natalie Appleton faced her fear of heights in the challenge, which required her to pull a jungle-style shopping trolley along a cable that was suspended 200ft above the ground. The musician retrieved seven stars but required an oxygen mask as she felt faint.
She voluntarily quit the show after complaining she had no energy due to insufficient food.
Joel Dommett – sliced his head open

Surprisingly, it’s not just the campmates who get injured on set. Comedian and Extra Camp host Joel Dommett sliced his head open when windy conditions caused a wooden sign to smack him on the back of the head.
The presenter was left dazed during the 2018 series and required seven stitches in hospital.
James Haskell – blistered foot
Rugby player James Haskell suffered a serious burn to his foot when he dropped a pot of boiling water in series 19. The ITV campmate was carrying a bucket of hot water to the washing-up section when he slipped and poured the boiling liquid all over his foot. He was unable to remove his boot in time, causing the front of his foot to blister up.
Janice Dickinson – concussion and ‘gushing blood’
I’m A Celeb All Stars’ Janice Dickinson took a tumble in the middle of the night when heading to the toilet. She reportedly slipped and ended up in hospital with head injuries and a concussion.
Staff feared she had a cracked skull but she later clarified that her “nose was bloody and my whole chin was gashed open.”
“Blood was gushing from all these areas, and there was dirt and stones embedded in my face from the fall,” she added. Medics instructed her to exit the jungle for safety reasons.
Russell Watson – chipped tooth
Opera singer Russell Watson was left in severe pain when he hit his tooth so hard during a trial, it chipped. He also suffered a nasty hit at the same time.
We must add that he was covered in maggots, fish guts, and rotten tomatoes while it all went down – delicious.
Emily Atack – snake bite
I’m A Celeb 2018’s Emily Atack was thrown into the deep end during the first bushtucker trial with the Viper Pit, which required her to retrieve stars in a nest of snakes. The poor actress was bitten by a writhing snake as she plunged her hand into the hole, prompting both her and host Holly Willoughby to shriek in fear.
Luckily, medics checked she was unharmed other than a few small bites.
