An amber alert was issued for 2-year-old Taylen Mosley missing after his mother, Pashun Jeffery, was found murdered in their St. Petersburg apartment on March 31.
Mosley and Jeffery were last seen alive by family members on Wednesday. When Jeffery couldn’t be reached on Thursday morning, her apartment manager found her dead.
Taylen Mosley could not be found after Pashun Jeffery, 20, was found dead in their apartment Thursday afternoon, Police Chief Anthony Holloway told reporters.
The police were unable to relocate Taylen. They found her mother dead.
“I can tell you it was a very violent homicide scene within the apartment,” Police Chief Anthony Holloway said. “But we could not find the 2-year-old. So right now, that’s our main concern — is to try and find Taylen.”
Authorities confirmed that Mosley is not with his father and was last seen in the 11600 Block of Fourth Street North in St. Petersburg.
St. Petersburg Police Chief Anthony Holloway said they have no leads in the search for Mosley and plan to launch a drone and conduct door-to-door searches for information.
The cause of Jefferey’s death remains unknown, and there were no reports to the police about the “commotion” in her apartment on Wednesday. The murder scene was described as violent.
Mosley is described as a 2-foot-tall African American male who weighs approximately 30 pounds. Holloway has asked the public to report any information about Mosley’s whereabouts, as finding him is their primary goal.
St. Petersburg authorities are calling on detectives and partnering with county, state, and federal agencies to assist in the search for the missing toddler.
