The sudden disappearance of an 18-year-old boy brought the Keith Anderson Missing case into the public eye.
Keith L. Anderson III, a college student, has been missing since January 29th, when he was last seen at Norfolk State University in Virginia.
“I dropped him off at the school. He said, ‘Bye,’ and ‘I love you.’ I said, ‘Bye, I love you too,'” his mother revealed. “That was the last time I saw him.”
The Norfolk City Police Department, in conjunction with the Virginia State Police, has issued a missing and endangered alert for Anderson as police and his family grows increasingly concerned about his well-being.
Anderson stands at 6 foot 1 inch tall and weighs 306 pounds.
He was wearing a grey hoodie, blue jogging pants, black crocs, and a black backpack, and has a nose ring piercing, pierced ears, and a tattoo of roman numerals on his left arm.
Authorities believe he may be on foot, as he does not have access to a car.
As determined by the investigating agency, concerns about Keith Anderson’s missing are heightened due to his need for medical care.
His family has reported that he seemed depressed in the days leading up to his disappearance, and his mother, Mesha Anderson, pleads for him to come home.
“This is not Keith. I just want everybody to know. This is a child. They’re calling him an adult, but he’s still a child. This is not a child that got upset with his family and just don’t want to be bothered with us no more. We are super close. We literally talk about everything. We’ve always had that type of relationship. Something’s wrong with my child,” said Mesha.
“Keith, contact me,” she said. “Whatever it is that you’re going through, just call mommy. Let me know that you’re at least breathing.”
Keith, according to Mesha, has no car, is not using his phone, and even deactivated his Instagram account.
Despite being a college student, Anderson is still considered a child by his mother and loved ones, and they are urging anyone with information on his whereabouts to come forward.
Mesha Anderson has described her son as outgoing, always smiling, and a sports medicine major who was excited to begin his first semester at Norfolk State University.
Authorities urge anyone who may have seen Keith Anderson or has information about his disappearance to contact them immediately. As the search continues, Anderson’s family hopes he will be safe and sound.
