Being a star in Hollywood certainly has its perks, but it also has its downsides, too. Celebrities—usually of the pretty, female variety—often have their private lives invaded, violated, or just plain stolen straight out from under them. And hackers are almost always targeting a celebrity of their choice, digging through their personal documents and sometimes even stealing photos and other personal information straight from their computers, phones, or even streaming devices like iCloud. And the favorite item to steal? Naked pictures, of course.

Often, these pictures and videos are of the celebs themselves in nude or otherwise compromising situations. And the photos themselves are usually some that the actresses involved would like to not share with the world, but unfortunately, they lose that choice when someone breaks into their files and then decides to spread those photos all over the internet. It seems like many female celebrities are the ones most targeted by hackers, and they each have their own way of handling the issue once it arises. Stolen naked photos often spark debates online about whether or not it’s okay to take part in viewing these images, despite the fact that these women did not want their photos taken, and since they are stolen anyway, it should be a moot point.
(Meaning no, it’s not okay to look at them.)

After all, do these people think that if someone broke into their home and stole their computer that it would be acceptable if that person then went around showing off all the private files they had on it? Personal thievery is terrible, and unfortunately, the popular, beautiful celebrity personalities that we flock to have to deal with this on a daily basis, just because they are popular media icons.
Also unfortunate is that the trend of hacking and stealing these nude images and videos doesn’t seem to be slowing anytime soon.
